I use my electric grill, oven, or the Desinni double sided grill pan which are all healthier alternatives to coal and open fire grilling, to grill my fish.

Now, let’s get into the grilled fish recipe. It’s so delicious with a hint of hot spiciness, I know you’ll love it!
I like to grill my fish whole so I gut and clean the fish, then cut some slashes on it to allow the marinade rub sink in and to to reduce cooking time.
I use a dry spice mix rub to marinade the fish and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
I then place my Dessini double sided grill pan on a lit gas stove for a minute or two, to heat up the pan and then gently place my fish in it.
I cover and allow to grill while turning it every 45 seconds so that it can cook evenly.
I let it grill smokelessly for 5-8 minutes depending on the size of the fish.
Yes, it’s that fast!!!
You can eat it with pepper sauce for a high protein meal, or add a side like boli (grilled plantain), potatoes, yam, e.t.c
Now let me quickly share the dry rub mix recipe (No, I didn’t forget 😀)
Dry fish rub grilling mix recipe (use 1 tbsp of mix for 450g of fish)
- 1 tablespoon of cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon of coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon of ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of ground white pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 bullion cubes (can be replaced with a tablespoon of crayfish powder and a tablespoon of locust beans powder.
- 1.5 tablespoon salt.
- Mix it all together marinade your fish, grill and enjoy!
